SiGe/Si technology

In Integrated Photonics a waveguide is the equivalent of an optical fiber: light beams can be routed, combined, split or make interfering anywhere on a planar substrate using simple optical functions fabricated on the waveguides.

Based on this technology we have developed a beam combiner (Arrayed Waveguide Grating – AWG – configuration) operating between 3 μm and 8 µm. These devices were specifically designed to work together with an array of DFB-QCL emitting at different wavelengths.

  • Two AWGs are available in the range 2185-2285 cm-1 and 1265-1365 cm-1. (datasheets MIR_CD003 and MIR_CD004);
  • Butt – coupling;
  • Up to 35 inputs
  • Custom design and fabrication are also offered in this call for a specific application.

  • New AWGs under development: 1440-1480 cm-1, 1700–1802 cm-1, 2877-3037 cm-1.
